![]() All you need to do is sign up, and ZipBooks will be ready to go to work for you! If you're interested in desktop software, see our review of Quickbooks 2019 desktop products. ZipBooks is 100% "in the cloud." That means you can log on any time, from any device, and all of your data stays in sync no matter what. In short, it's simple to use - and though it's capable of doing accounting for high-revenue businesses, the heavy lifting stays behind the scenes. Because of that vision, we think ZipBooks offers a more streamlined interface, more intuitive reporting, and more visually appealing workflows. ZipBooks was formed with small business owners in mind, not just accountants. as the name suggests they should be.How is ZipBooks different than Quickbooks? It makes me feel like they're going backwards in technology and not forward. ![]() There are boxes where there didn't used to be and don't need to be. However, when I use the program on my desktop screen, I have the same issues. Most people use the program on their laptops and you can tell they're making it more for desktop in that the pages are too wide/big and don't fit on your computer screen. A lot of the windows are also not seemless/ aligned like they used to be - not everything is lined up on the same gridline. A lot of the changes make it harder to do my job by adding steps/clicks to performing tasks that weren't there before. And worse yet, when they implement a change, it glitches terribly and it takes them months to fix it. You can tell the developers do not use the program on a daily basis. And I've really learned a lot by running some of those reports.Ĭons: Recently (2023), QuickBooks Online development team have been making a lot of physical changes to the program that are HORRIBLE! I hate every change they've made this year. Use all the help features and just get comfortable because there's a lot of reports that QuickBooks Online can run and can do for you. See all the places where you can make your life easier in terms of integration. So if you're considering this, really think about do you have people in multiple locations who need to access the information and data in real time? Are you going to have people in multiple locations who are going to be updating or uploading information? Also, as you're using this, really look at the integration with other programs, with financial software, with banking software. I have found it easy, even with my limited knowledge of how to use it to go in and run the reports that I need in real time without any help. Both the QuickBooks Online and my team of accountants and tax professionals just really helped me with this. I am totally not an accountant and really needed that support for the business and the team that I worked with. I found it really easy to integrate QuickBooks Online, far easier than I thought it was going to be. So it's really great when you have a team that's working in multiple locations or even a team of contractors. And the great thing about it is I can log in in real time and see what other people on the team have done or updated. We ended up choosing QuickBooks Online because the online version is set up so that you can have users from multiple locations logging in, even contractors we were working with really helped in terms of getting taxes done. And really, as we were growing the business needed a much more robust solution. And we had done a little bit of the DIY solution, I have to admit, of kind of spreadsheets or Excel sheets or Google Docs. So before using QuickBooks Online, we were searching for a really good solution for bookkeeping, especially something that could be used by multiple users in multiple locations.
